Third Law Sourcing Selects WellStar Health System for Pro Bono Strategic Sourcing Consulting Project
Third Law Sourcing has chosen WellStar Health System as its 2012 charitable engagement. The firm will help the healthcare system reduce annual costs through strategic vendor negotiations. Each year, Third Law Sourcing provides pro bono services to a non-profit organization located in the Southeast with over $500 million in revenue. The philanthropic program was established with the awareness that each dollar of savings directly supports the non-profit's mission.
“In choosing a pro bono client, we think it’s important to partner with an organization that is a good strategic fit in terms of their ability to engage with us to drive immediate savings to their bottom line,” said Scott Drobes, managing partner, Third Law Sourcing. “We selected WellStar because of its commitment to serving our community, as well as for its focus on strategic sourcing as a tool for maintaining a financially sound organization.”
Headquartered in Marietta, Georgia, WellStar Health System includes five acute care hospitals, five urgent care centers, 14 imaging centers and more than 100 medical group offices. WellStar Health System was named 2011 Supply Chain Department of the Year by Healthcare Purchasing News. WellStar serves a population of more than one million residents of metropolitan Atlanta.
“With reimbursements continuing to go down, provider organizations must pay attention to every spending category throughout the organization,” said Anthony Trupiano, vice president, supply chain, WellStar Health System. “When I joined WellStar in 2008, our initial focus was on clinical supply procurement. Now our focus has shifted to include non-supply items, and we look forward to working with Third Law Sourcing to identify every savings opportunity available.”
